AVT Announces Latest Version of CallXpress for Windows NT; New Offering Now Supports a Unified Message Store on Both Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes Servers.

), formerly Applied Voice Technology, Inc., today announced the latest version of its industry-leading unified messaging Having access to e-mail, voice mail and faxes via a common computer application or by telephone. This new version offers revolutionary new capabilities, including native server-based voice and fax message storage on Microsoft(R) Exchange(R) or Lotus Notes Messaging and groupware software from IBM Lotus that was introduced in 1989 for OS/2 and later expanded to Windows, Mac, Unix, NetWare, AS/400 and S/390. Notes provides e-mail, document sharing, workflow, group discussions and calendaring and scheduling. Additionally, this release includes enhanced mobility services through the support of the industry standard Short Message Service (SMS (1) (Storage Management System) Software used to routinely back up and archive files. See HSM.

Since early 1993, CallXpress has provided voice, fax, and later email messages integrated at the telephone, or client workstation -- providing a single presentation of all message types to the user. This newest version of CallXpress for Windows NT offers server-based unified messaging, maintaining voice and fax messages along with email messages on the Microsoft Exchange Messaging and groupware software for Windows from Microsoft. Exchange Server is an Internet-compliant e-mail system that runs under Windows NT/2000 and Windows Server 2003. It can be accessed by Web browsers, the Exchange client, versions of Outlook and the earlier Windows Inbox.  or Lotus Notes server. Server-based unified messaging simplifies database administration and provides users with a unified address book for all types of messages. Furthermore, users have the option of choosing a Windows-based or browser-based interface to listen, view, and manage their messages.

This new release also includes multi-lingual text-to-speech capabilities -- further broadening the product's appeal to the rapidly growing international market.

This newest version of CallXpress for Windows NT will be available within the next 30 days. Pricing for the product remains unchanged from previous versions -- beginning at $15,000, with specific pricing depending on size and applications included. The product is distributed primarily through the AVT Network of resellers and strategic OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it.
