Recent tests conducted by the Taiwan Institute of Technology confirmed the unique ability of the device to act as a cooling unit. Requiring no power and activating purely on temperature change, it is believed that the unit could increase the battery life of the typical notebook computer by as much as 30%. AVL is also in confidential discussions with a major North American computer manufacturer for similar applications. AsiaCom, Inc., a leading manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, is also testing the unit.
