AVIATION EXPO MARKS WRIGHTS' FIRST FLIGHT.

VAN NUYS - As the nation prepares to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' flight, the Van Nuys Airport Van Nuys Airport (IATA: VNY, ICAO: KVNY, FAA LID: VNY) is a public airport located in Van Nuys, California in the San Fernando Valley, within the Los Angeles city limits.  community will open its doors Saturday for a free youth aviation expo to introduce kids to the world of flying.

``Kick-off to Kitty Hawk'' will offer free plane rides, demonstrations and talks on aviation in the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Syncro Aviation Interiors, 7701 Woodley Ave. For information, call (818) 837-2613.

The expo comes as the nation is celebrating the Wright Brothers' famed flight Dec. 17, 1903, with a week of events in Kitty Hawk Kitty Hawk or Kittyhawk, part of an offshore sandbar on Cape Hatteras, NE N.C., E of Albemarle Sound. Nearby is Kill Devil Hill, where the Wright brothers experimented successfully (1900–1903) with gliders and airplanes. , N.C., to mark the event that changed aviation history.

The anniversary celebration is hosted by Syncro Aviation Interiors, whose chief executive officer, Barbara Cesar, organized the event as a way to draw public attention to the local airport community and give back to the Valley's young people.
