AVI BioPharma to be Added to Russell 3000 Index.

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BW HealthWire)--June 26, 2001

AVI BioPharma, Inc. (Nasdaq:AVII) (Nasdaq:AVIIW) (Nasdaq:AVIIZ) announced today that the company is poised to join the prestigious Russell 3000(R) Index, a financial measure of the most successful large cap and small cap public companies that is used as a benchmark for investors.

It interleaves standard waveform audio and digital video frames (bitmaps) to provide reduced animation at 15 fps at 160x120x8 resolution. It is a financial landmark for companies to be selected for the list because it is determined strictly by market capitalization rankings and style attributes, rather than by subjective opinion or committee.
