Avengers (8-6) update: The Avengers return home to play the second of three must-win games at the end of the regular season. The team holds the eighth and final Arena Football League playoff spot and could clinch a postseason berth this weekend through a five-game combination of events. After going just 2-4 in home games this season, the Avengers stayed at a hotel Friday night in the hopes of reversing those fortunes. The team also cut ties with lineman Jeremy Staat Jeremy Ray Staat (born October 10, 1976 in Bakersfield, California) is a former American Football defensive end who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1998 and the St. Louis Rams for two games in 2003. He also played for the Los Angeles Avengers arena football team.  on Wednesday after suspending him last week. Las Vegas quarterback Clint Dolezel and Avengers quarterback Tony Graziani both have thrown for more than 80 touchdowns this season.
