AVC RAISES THE CURTAIN SHAKESPEARE, BECKETT IN THEATER LINEUP.

LANCASTER - Works from William Shakespeare and Samuel Beckett are among the offerings of the Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. ``Samuel Beckett Gets the Blues'' incorporates the Nobel Prize Nobel Prize, award given for outstanding achievement in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, peace, or literature. The department's Theatre for Young Audiences program tours local elementary schools from February through April, performing before nearly 10,000 youngsters with a series of scenes, songs, poems, dances and audience interaction pieces.

This year's show, ``Cootie Shots,'' celebrates American diversity and delivers an anti-bullying message.

The show will also be presented to the general public in two public offerings at the college's Black Box Theatre on March 4. ``Nickel and Dimed'' and ``Tongue of a Bird,'' will be offered in repertory over the course of three weekends as part of AVC's annual Women's Conference.

Adapted from a best-selling book, ``Nickel and Dimed'' presents the story of an journalist who goes undercover to live and work on low wages.

``Tongue of a Bird'' centers around a search-and-rescue pilot's quest to find an abducted abducted Distal angulation of an extremity away from the midline of the body in a transverse plane and away from a sagittal plane passing through the proximal aspect of the foot or part, or away from some other specified reference point  girl. The plays will alternate performance days, with productions offered on either Fridays or Saturday from March 17 through April 2. The Original One Act Festival that runs May 11-14 celebrates its 10th anniversary, showcasing new plays in a workshop setting. A tribute to playwrights from past festivals is planned for the evening.

The Dance Dimensions performance on April 20 and 21 will offer a multitude of dance styles, performers and guest companies at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center A performing arts center, often abbreviated PAC, is a multi-use performance space that can be adapted for use by various types of the performing arts, including dance, music and theatre. .
