AVC PLANS OPEN HOUSE RANGE OF EVENTS IN STORE.

LANCASTER - Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  will showcase its educational programs and services during its seventh annual open house, to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Visitors will be treated to free barbecued hot dogs, soft drinks and ice cream as well as musical and theater performances, demonstrations, exhibits and campus tours.

Face painting, a bounce house and petting zoo are among some of the activities designed to appeal to children.

--Rededication of the Pathway of Knowledge at 10 a.m., hosted by the AVC Foundation.

--Musical performances at the start of each hour featuring the Antelope Valley Children's Choir, Test Flight and Garage Band.

--Basketball clinic at 10 a.m. by basketball coaches Newton Chelette and John Taylor.

--Also featured: Blood pressure checks, student artwork in the campus art gallery, a car show hosted by the college's auto body program and cowboy poetry and storytelling by the Antelope Valley Literacy Coalition.
