The Antelope Valley
 College's running game was hiding.

It's hard to miss 5-foot-10, 265-pound Kasey Young, but it is easy to overlook a team's fullback spot for offensive production. AVC (1) (Advanced Video Coding) The video compression techniques used in the H.264 standard, jointly developed by ISO and the ITU-T. See H.264.

Young and newly converted fullback Travis Alkire were the major weapons for the Marauders (2-3) in their most prolific ground performance of the season. ``The offensive line has done a very good job blocking for us,'' AVC coach Brent Carder said.

While Young is the starter at fullback, Alkire can't be ignored after Carder decided to move the freshman from Bethel Bethel, in the Bible

). Travis had a sore ankle and wasn't playing much at tight end,'' Carder said. ``He's very smart and he picked things up very fast.''

The Marauders are beginning to gain some momentum, particularly on the offensive side of the ball.

``Our defense has played well all season,'' Carder said.

Quarterback Monte Gutowski tossed three touchdowns at Mesa.

``We only have four sophomores starting on offense right now. The rest are freshmen,'' Carder said. ``We felt that we needed to improve on offense and the kicking game. We've seen a lot of improvement offensively and some improvement in the kicking game.''

Notes: The Marauders now lead the Foothill Conference in total defense, yielding just 284.5 yards/game.
