 team is coming off second- and third-place finishes at Citrus College According to the Public Policy Institute of California, Citrus College had 632 students who transferred to universities during the 2005-2006 academic year, ranking seventh in the area.

Citrus College students are represented by ASCC the Associated Students of Citrus College.
. Its men's team was second to Citrus and its women's team was third in the four-team meet. Citrus also won the women's division.

``The women's meet was close,'' Covert said, adding that the conference meets tend to ``have very good competition.''

Individually, Kevin Richards of A.V. had a personal best in the triple jump, going 47 feet 3/4 inches, the fifth-longest jump in Southern California.

``He's struggled a bit in putting things together. Hopefully, he's leading in the right direction,'' Covert said of Richards.

Craig Hall Craig Hall is a rugby league player currently playing for Hull FC in the Super League. Primarily a centre, he broke into the first team in 2007 after progressing through Hull's academy.  has been one of AVC's top performers in the 100-meters and, according to according to

Hall, who has the fourth fastest time in Southern California, has been running consistently under 10.6

Covert said his athletes ``have with us have worked hard . . . they are running up to their potential.'' However, there could be surprises, the coach said, later, in the Southern California regional meet, when ``anything could happen.''

After Saturday's meet, the Marauders have a week off of competition before another month of tough meets.

``This ends the first part of the season,'' Covert said of his team, which has survived a difficult eight-week schedule, with only one player seriously injured.

 softball team knew there was a chance they would face a tough challenge at the Golden West Tournament this past weekend. Of the 16 teams in the tournament nine were ranked in the latest state poll.

The Marauders brought with them an undefeated record and a dominant all-around team to challenge the ranked schools. Schools like Long Beach City, ranked second in the state, Palomar, ranked third, and Fullerton, ranked fourth, were sure to end up in the championship game.

But the Marauders lost its first game of the year Friday against Riverside College before finishing the tournament in the consolation championship game against Palomar.

The Marauders defeated San Diego Mesa, Pasadena and Santa Ana colleges before losing 7-1 Sunday.

The Marauders (11-2) now head this weekend to the Fresno Tournament, which will feature 36 teams from both the southern and northern regions of the state. The Marauders face Shasta, Merced and Bakersfield colleges on the first day.
