NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 1996--A. Lorne Weil, Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of AUTOTOTE CORPORATION [NASDAQ/NMS:TOTE], today announced that DeWayne E. Laird has been named Corporate Controller.

In that position, Mr. Laird will have responsibility for all accounting functions and will report to William Luke, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
