SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - Four people were killed Thursday and two were injured in a high-speed, two-car crash that threw three teen-agers onto Soledad Canyon Soledad Canyon is a long narrow canyon / valley located in Los Angeles County, California between the cities of Palmdale and Santa Clarita. Soledad Canyon contains the localities of Vincent, Acton, Ravenna, and Agua Dulce.  Road, authorities said.

The car with the teen-agers apparently crossed into oncoming lanes near Sand Canyon Road, hit the other vehicle head-on about 8:10 p.m., and flipped, said Deputy Tom McGee of the Santa Clarita sheriff's station.

The identities of the victims and survivors were not immediately available.

``It's a very tragic accident when you have four fatalities especially when three of them are teens just starting out,'' said Los Angeles County Fire Department Not to be confused with Los Angeles Fire Department.
