AUTOPSY REVEALS LITTLE IN A.V. CASE.

Byline: Bhavna Mistry Daily News Staff Writer

An autopsy Friday failed to determine what killed Renee Mullins, the Lancaster woman who disappeared from her apartment Sunday and whose body was found three days later in the California Aqueduct The California Aqueduct is a 444 mile (715 km)-long[1] aqueduct in the United States that carries water from Northern California to Southern California. .

Coroner's officials released sparse information after the autopsy, saying only that there were no signs of external trauma and that further tests were required to determine what caused the woman's death.

Officials said they were not able to determine when she died, noting that the extreme decomposition made the work difficult for investigators. A toxicology report has also been ordered.

``It's going to take some study of additional tissues taken at the time of the autopsy to assist investigators to conclude what caused her death,'' said Los Angeles County coroner The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner was created in its present form on December 7, 1990 by an ordinance approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, though it has existed in some form since the late 19th century.  spokesman Scott Carrier Scott Carrier is an American author and radio producer. . ``Right now there is no way to conclude how she died.''

Authorities said they will keep secret some of the autopsy results on Mullins, whose mysterious disappearance drew intense media interest, as the investigation continues. No one has been arrested in her death.

``Sheriff's officials have requested that no additional information be given in this case,'' Carrier said. ``We have to honor that.''

Mullins, 34, had moved into the apartment three weeks ago after separating from her husband of 14 years. After the separation, her husband moved in with his parents in Rosamond.

Detectives said they have interviewed the husband. They said he offered no explanation into his wife's disappearance and said he was not involved.
