AUTOMOTIVE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS ANNOUNCES NEW OFFICERS

 DETROIT, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers, Inc. (AOEM) announced the appointment of a new slate of officers for 1993. Kenneth L. Way, chairman and chief executive officer of Lear Seating Corporation, was elected president of the AOEM.
 Other officers elected were Derek Plummer, group vice president of Textron, Inc., vice president; Timothy D. Leuliette, president and chief executive officer of ITT Automotive, treasurer; and Eugene A. Gargaro Jr. of Detroit, as secretary and legal counsel.
 Way, a resident of Bloomfield Hills, has been affiliated with Lear for 27 years in engineering, manufacturing and general management positions. Lear is the world's largest independent manufacturer of automotive seating. It has 46 facilities in 10 countries and employs 14,500. Its sales will approximate $1.7 billion during the present fiscal year.
 Plummer, a native of Leicester, England, joined Ex-Cell-O Corporation in England in 1955. He is currently responsible for the automotive activities of Textron, Inc. He is also vice president and executive board member of the Detroit Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
 In addition to serving as president of ITT Automotive, Leuliette i ?a senior vice president of ITT Corporation. Previously, Leuliette was president and chief executive of Siemens Automotive L.P., a German electrical and electronics company.
 Gargaro has been with Dykema Gossett since 1967, and as a partner in the Taxation and Estates Group.
 The AOEM is an industry association of suppliers to automotive vehicle manufacturers who exchange and publish information common to the industry. It is composed of 27 companies whose combined worldwide employment exceeds 2,500,000, and whose combined worldwide sales are in excess of $175 billion.
