AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE PUBLISHES LARGEST ISSUE

NEW YORK, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- With more than 94 pages of advertising packed in, AUTOMOBILE Magazine's October "New Cars '94" issue is its largest ever.
The April 1991 issue, which was also the magazine's fifth anniversary issue, had previously held the distinction of being the largest ever with more than 88 ad pages. The October 1993 issue also topped last October's by more than 15 ad pages.
"This further solidifies our position as the fastest-growing car magazine ever," Group Publisher Terry Russell said. "We've managed to more than double our circulation in the last five years and deliver a bonus in every ABC statement since we began. That's a pretty good track record.
"We have also increased our market share in 1993 -- a period when our category has been down. Perhaps, that's the most pleasing aspect of all of this."
Editorially, the October '93 issue features the 1994 lineup of domestic cars, sport utilities, minivans and trucks in all four-color photography and AUTOMOBILE Magazine's own unique user-friendly style incorporating real-life driving concerns as well as vital technical information.
Founded in 1986, AUTOMOBILE Magazine has already achieved circulation in excess of 575,000. Acclaimed in 1992 by AdWeek as one of the nation's 10 hottest publications, AUTOMOBILE Magazine is published by the K-III Magazine Corporation, which also produces Premiere, New York, Seventeen and New Woman.
