AUTO DEALER GOLDMAN, 50, DIES.

VALENCIA - Joel Goldman, vice president and general manager of Valencia Nissan and Volkswagen of Valencia, died Thursday of an apparent of heart attack, his friends and family said.

A service will be held today for Goldman, who also was vice president of the Valencia Auto Dealers Association.

``He was a highly respected businessman, a good citizen and a family man,'' said Don Fleming Don Fleming is the name of:

, president of the dealers association. ``We loved him very much and will miss him a lot.''

Goldman, who lived in Beverly Hills Beverly Hills, city (1990 pop. 31,971), Los Angeles co., S Calif., completely surrounded by the city of Los Angeles; inc. 1914. The largely residential city is home to many motion-picture and television personalities. , would have been 51 on Dec. 20. He was a father of four and active in the Jewish community, said Andrew Sattley, his partner in the Volkswagen operation.

``He was very devout in the Jewish faith,'' Sattley said. ``He went to Israel earlier this year to deliver money to the cause over there.''

``He played basketball last night and came home and read stories to his kids before they went to bed,'' Sattley said.

Goldman was a lawyer but did not practice, although that background proved an asset to the dealerships, Sattley said.

Goldman is survived by his wife, Jory, and his children. His father, Sam Goldman, is owner of Executive Car Leasing, based in Beverly Hills. The family has owned the local Nissan dealership since 1992.
