With the bicycles, the team is able to ride through bike paths, trails and other areas that are inaccessible by car, Efflandt said. ``This method of working with the community to reduce crime and create relationships between law enforcement and residents has proven to be a highly effective means of improving the quality of life in various communities,'' city spokeswoman Gail Ortiz said.
