AUSTRALIAN STAR-HOUNDS TO GET FULL-ON L.A. TOUR.

Byline: Peter Hartlaub Daily News Staff Writer

For 10 winners of an Australian radio call-in contest, a journey to see the Oscars will start from halfway around the world - and end just a few miles short of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is one of the halls in the Los Angeles Music Center (which is one of the three largest performing arts centers in the United States). The Music Center's other halls include the Mark Taper Forum, Ahmanson Theatre, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. .

Organizers insist that the special Academy Awards screening, on a television at the Bistro Garden in Studio City, is more than enough glamour for the star-struck Aussies.

``Your everyday life is something of interest to them over there,'' said Peter Clay, producer of the ``2Day FM Morning Show'' in Sydney. ``People who you might run into down at a restaurant are a huge deal to the Australians.''

Indeed, some of last year's winners ended up getting into the Fox studio party, where they said ``G'day'' to James Cameron

In case they don't run into any of the winners Sunday, they may get a chance to see them taking out their trash later in the week. The radio station has planned a guided tour guided tour guide nvisite guidée;
