The company's exhibition highlights include the world's largest 20-inch e-paper module, its first 6-inch flexible e-paper, 65-inch 4K2K 2D/3D Mixed Mode Display, 58-inch HD Ultra Wide (2.35:1) Display, AUO Advanced multi-domain vertical alignment (AMVA)5 16,000:1 high static contrast ratio and 65inch, quad full high-definition (QFHD) ultra- thin 7.9 mm LED panel with high dynamic contrast. Backed by advanced 3D display technologies, AUO showcased a series of 3D 8- to 65-inch displays at the FPD show. AUO's breakthrough 3D display technology is patented for the barrier as well as lenticular type, without requiring special glasses. As glasses-free 3D displays need wider viewing angles, AUO has optimized the higher-resolution panels and revolutionary pixel design so audience can appreciate the higher resolution. The panel maker says that its 65-inch 4K2K 2D/3D mixed mode display uses a lenticular lens. A 2D/3D switch allows viewing 3D and 2D images easily. Offering lifelike 3D images and clear text display, such display is ideal for showing public information and advertisements. To demonstrate advanced TV display technologies, AUO launched the 58-inch ultra-wide 2.35:1 TV suitable for home theater, able to handle 2560x1080 ultra-wide resolution and display 2.35:1 films without blackouts at the top and bottom of the screen. AUO also demonstrated the 42-inch, 10mm-thick, edge-lit LED local dimming TV panel. With 32 dimming areas, this TV saves power an average of 50%. This panel will be trial tested in the fourth quarter and mass production is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2010, the company said. |
