AUDRE RECEIVES INITIAL ORDER FOR DELIVERY TO THE DEFENSE PRINTING SERVICE

SAN DIEGO, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Audre Recognition Systems Inc. (AMEX: ARS) announced it has received its first order from Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK) for the delivery of AUDRE's UNIX-based Automatic Choice information conversion system to the Defense Printing Service (DPS). Eastman Kodak is the prime contractor for the ADMAPS (Automated Document Management and Publishing System) contract with DPS.
"Key DPS installations, such as Port Hueneme, California, are very important in this initial rollout of the AUDRE conversion system," stated Thomas F. Casey, chairman and CEO of AUDRE. "Our system is designed to enable the Government to absorb large volumes of paper-based or previously scanned information in a highly automated fashion. These initial installations will demonstrate how automated information conversion can bring significant savings in both time and money to the process of creating and disseminating computer-usable information."
"Due to the projected workload for this initial installation, follow-on orders are anticipated in the near future. Our goal is that this model business solution will set the standard for other Defense Printing Service conversion facilities," commented Greg McClay, vice president, Federal Business Development, AUDRE, Inc.
"The Automatic Choice" is AUDRE's UNIX-based document conversion software. AUDRE's extensive use of applied intelligence techniques sets its software apart from other conversion software. Its Neural Recognition converts scanned images of alphanumeric information to ASCII, while high speed pattern recognition and line vectorization identify the symbology and geometries contained on technical documents.
AUDRE, a ten year-old concern, is a leader in the field of automated conversion. AUDRE designs, develops, and markets a line of proprietary applied intelligence-based software systems. AUDRE's products are used to convert engineering drawings, technical publications, and maps into computer-intelligent formats.
