AUDIT OF BOOSTER CLUBS UNCOVERS DISCREPANCIES.

An audit has revealed more than $34,000 in discrepancies in the bookkeeping of two school band booster clubs, prompting Conejo Valley The Conejo Valley is a region spanning both Southeastern Ventura County and Northwest Los Angeles County in Southern California, United States. It was discovered in 1542 by Spanish explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, and eventually became part of the Rancho El Conejo land grant by  school officials to ask for an investigation of possible criminal activity.

The discrepancies were discovered during a school district audit requested by the Sequoia Middle School and Newbury Park High Band booster clubs.

``Unfortunately the audit has uncovered many inaccuracies and discrepancies between the clubs' books and their bank accounts from 1994-98,'' said a statement issued Wednesday by the Conejo Valley Unified School District Conejo Valley Unified School District or CVUSD is a school district in Ventura County. It serves Thousand Oaks, California and its subsections Newbury Park and Westlake Village. . ``The discrepancies that have been confirmed to date are in excess of $34,000 and are expected to climb higher as additional records are received and confirmed.''

Booster clubs raise money to help support student activities and are operated by volunteers. Booster clubs can request audits from the district and the district has the right to audit the financial records of the clubs at any time.
