ATX Continues to Strengthen Customer Operations, Adding Telecom Veteran Michael Spurlin as Senior Director of Operations.

:COMM), a leading integrated communications provider, has named Michael Spurlin, a 19-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, to the position of Senior Director of Operations.

Spurlin, a 39-year-old resident of Jamison, Pennsylvania, will initially be focusing on service delivery within ATX's Customer Operations organization, helping the Company continue to enhance its reputation with already industry-leading metrics in customer service, customer satisfaction, and customer retention.

Spurlin previously served as President at Atlas Communications, where he was responsible for growth initiatives, planning, and long-term strategic direction for the private wholesaler of domestic and international telecommunications services. He was also Atlas' Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer for three years, leading the company's corporate development efforts and directing its MIS, Provisioning, Network Engineering, Finance, and Customer Care departments. Prior to joining Atlas, Spurlin spent 14 years at Cable & Wireless, where he held several positions including Director of the company's East Coast Technical Operations, with responsibilities for all central office and network infrastructure serving all Business Unit products in 23 U.S. states.

Spurlin graduated from Pennsylvania State University Pennsylvania State University, main campus at University Park, State College; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1855, opened 1859 as Farmers' High School.  in 1983. He holds an AD in Telecommunications Engineering Technology.
