VALENCIA - Local businesses and professionals will greet and network with potential customers this weekend under a big-top tent in a College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. But you don't really know the people behind the business.

``People in this valley like to do business with people that they know and people that they like.''

 Up is sponsoring Taste of Expo, a networking event that aims to combine drinks and deals.

A new attraction is Saturday's classic car show, featuring pre-1975 vintage automobiles.

``We wanted something there that would be appealing to the general public - people that would like a little more entertainment value to this event,'' Masterson said. ``Nothing wrong having a little fun at a business event.''

The 21st Santa Clarita Valley Home and Business Expo will run Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at College of the Canyons, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road in Valencia. Admission is $1, and children 12 and under will be admitted free. The price includes a raffle entry for a plasma television giveaway.

The Taste of Expo event is scheduled today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

``(Exhibitor spaces) have been sold out for about a month,'' said Gary Choppe, the event's chairman. ``That shows me that most of our members are excited. We have 2,000 chamber members and we have a lot of members that are showcasing. We're hoping for nice weather.''
