Once common standard for connecting peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, etc.) to small and medium-sized computers. SCSI has given way to faster standards, such as Firewire and USB.
and Fibre Channel storage connectivity solutions, today announced the introduction of a SAN connectivity solution, as well as a volume management software package, at the CeBIT 2000 trade show in Hannover, Germany, February 24 - March 1. CeBIT is renowned as the world's largest and most comprehensive information technology exposition. The company will introduce the ATTO ExpressPCI FC SW - a Fibre Channel Short Wave Optical host bus adapter See host adapter. , and ATTO AccelWare DP (dual-platform) volume management SAN software at the show. ATTO's product introduction, a part of their end-to-end Storage Area Network (SAN) solution, improves interoperability for the emerging SAN arena.

Says ATTO President Timothy Klein, "ATTO is extremely pleased to introduce ATTO ExpressPCI FC SW and ATTO AccelWare DP at CeBIT 2000. This exposition is the preeminent showcase for the latest trends and products in the European IT arena, and ATTO welcomes this occasion to announce two high performance products as part of the company's end-to-end SAN solution." The European market has recognized the benefits of integrating SAN topologies for enterprise applications, and there is an increasing demand for intelligent connectivity solutions that both maximize performance while addressing the interoperability within the SAN environment. "ATTO is pleased to meet this demand with innovative, high-performance products tailored to specifically address this growing market."

The ATTO ExpressPCI FC SW is a PC and Mac(R) compatible host bus adapter integrating the latest in Fibre Channel technology. The adapter enables PCI-to-Fibre Channel interconnect while maximizing productivity in workgroup and enterprise-level SAN environments. The ATTO Express PCI (1) (Payment Card Industry) See PCI DSS.

ATTO will also announce ATTO AccelWare DP volume management SAN software at CeBIT. ATTO AccelWare allows data to be easily shared and managed in workgroup SAN environments. With its ease-of-use and straightforward setup, it allows workgroups to manage shared data while maximizing data integrity.

"It is ATTO's goal to be a single source of a comprehensive and scalable line of connectivity solutions for SAN-based applications," concludes Klein. "ATTO looks to continue to develop leading-edge innovations for the emerging SAN landscape and help define and broaden the applications for this technology. We look forward to these two additions further expanding the benefits of our existing SAN interconnect solutions."
