Most Entertaining Site: Imhotep's Circus of Fear. For sheer irreverence and bizarre goofiness, it's impossible to find wackier than the Circus of Fear at http://www.dnaco.net/(tilde A symbol used in Windows, starting with Windows 95, that maintains a short version of a long file or directory name for compatibility with Windows 3.1 and DOS. For example, the short version of a file named "Letter to Joe" would be LETTER~1. Then "Letter to Pat" becomes LETTER~2. )timh/.

Best known for the ``Walter Cronkite Spit in My Food'' page, it's now also home to the Sosumi Corp. and the truth about aliens and chupacabras. And be sure to read Imhotep's conspiracy theory about why he was nominated for - but didn't win - the Cool Site of the Year Award.

Best News Site: The Wall Street Journal. At first glance, The Wall Street Journal's site at http://www.wsj.com/ looks unimpressive. While it's got a simple, clean design, there's little visually to draw you in.

But the developers of this interactive version paid close attention to organization, making it easy to navigate and sift through the Journal's vast resources. There also are plenty of extras on the interactive edition that make it worth the $49-a-year price of subscribing.

Best ``Site of the Day'' Site: Project Cool. Glen Davis, who created the original ``Site of the Day'' concept with his Cool Site of the Day, moves on to Project Cool at http://www.projectcool.com/. Besides offering up a top-notch site each day, Project Cool features the Developer Zone with tips on how to turn your own Web site from mundane into magnificent.

Best Personal Home Page: Walter Miller's Home Page. Here's the tale of a young HTML HTML
