ATSI Appoints Renero to International Operations Post.

ATSI Communications Inc. (AMEX:AI) today announced the appointment of Gabriel Renero as Senior Vice President of International Operations.

Mr. Renero will be responsible for managing the Company's international retail operations, consumer products and private network services, and he will serve as a liaison between the Company's operations in Mexico and Central America and its operations based in the United States.

Mr. Renero has over 12 years experience in the telecom industry, specifically with cellular, wireless local loop, Internet and long distance services. Prior to joining ATSI, Mr. Renero was President of El Paso Net Inc., the second-largest Internet Service Provider in El Paso, Texas. Previously, he was the Regional Vice President of Iusatelecomunicaciones, S.A. (Iusacell), the second-largest telecommunications company in Mexico. As cellular services were first being introduced in Mexico, Mr. Renero's experience played an essential role in the success of a Motorola joint venture that launched cellular services throughout the North Central region of that country.

Mr. Renero's educational background includes a Bachelor of Engineering from the Universidad Ibero Americana, Mexico City, a Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, and he is a graduate of the IPADE Executive program, in Juarez, Mexico.
