ATP Electronics Announces PC133 SDRAM Modules.

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 1999--

ATP ATP: see adenosine triphosphate.

Organic compound, substrate in many enzyme-catalyzed reactions (see catalysis) in the cells of animals, plants, and microorganisms.
Electronics, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Actiontec Electronics, Inc., is pleased to announce a complete family of 168-pin PC133 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) A type of dynamic RAM (DRAM) memory chip that has been widely used since the late 1990s. SDRAM chips eliminated wait states by dividing the chip into two cell blocks and interleaving data between them.  DIMM (Dual In-Line Memory Module) A printed circuit board that holds memory chips and plugs into a DIMM socket on the motherboard.  modules. The DIMM modules are offered in capacities of 32, 64, 128, 256, and 512 MB, and are available in Registered with ECC (1) (Error-Correcting Code) A type of memory that corrects errors on the fly. See ECC memory.

(2) (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) A public key cryptography method that provides fast decryption and digital signature processing.
, or Unbuffered (with and without ECC).

The complete line of PC133-compliant memory modules was designed to help memory keep pace with the ever-increasing processor performance demands on the memory subsystem, minimizing the throughput "bottleneck." PC133-compliant memory modules run at 133 MHz - a 33% performance improvement over previous PC100-compliant memory modules.

"ATP is one of the first manufacturers to offer this type of high performance memory architecture," stated Tim Hsieh, president of ATP Electronics. "This positions us at the leading edge of the technology." The new PC133 SDRAMs are a cost-efficient interim memory solution for demanding server and workstation applications that need additional performance now.

9001 certified company, works closely with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  partners to design memory products that will provide them with a strong competitive advantage. ATP consistently tests its latest products, including the PC133 line, in a large variety of systems, with particular emphasis on the top-10 motherboard manufacturers. ATP's SDRAM memory modules are compatible with Intel, Abit, Apple, Asus, Biostar, DEC Alpha, DFI See Direct foreign investment. , Digital, FIC FIC First International Computer
FIC Fogarty International Center (John E. Fogarty International Center for Advanced Study in the Health Sciences; National Institutes of Health)

, Gigabyte, IWill, MicroStar, SuperMicro, Tekram, Tyan, and many more.

To accommodate its strong growth, ATP has recently doubled its production capacity, and is scheduled to double it again early in the second quarter of this year. "The launch of PC133 is on target with ATP's 1999 road map," noted Hsieh. "Our customers can count on ATP to provide the timely and innovative memory solutions that they require."

ATP's memory modules support most of the major PC servers and workstations. ATP's PC133 registered modules are 100% compliant with the latest specifications of IBM/Reliance Computer Corporation. ATP's memory modules all carry a lifetime warranty and are guaranteed to be 100% compatible with desktop, workstation and server PCs.

About ATP

Founded in July 1991, ATP provides a broad line of quality memory products for server, workstation, desktop, and notebook computers. In November 1996, ATP completed a merger with Actiontec Electronics (http://www.actiontec.com), a well-established provider of data communications, connectivity, storage and home networking products. The merge enhanced both Actiontec's and ATP's product offerings. ATP Electronics, Inc. is headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, and can be reached at 408/732-5000 or http://www.atpusa.com.
