ATP Announces 25% Increase in Nicotrol/Nicorette Inhaler Sales, Fiscal 2002 Results and Dividend.

Advanced Tobacco Products Inc., d/b/a Advanced Therapeutic Products Inc ("ATP") (OTC Bulletin Board: AVTH) today reported after tax earnings of $642,239 (8 cents per share) on operating revenues of $826,771 for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2002, as compared to $529,091 (6 cents per share) on operating revenues of $643,399 for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2001.

The Board of Directors of ATP also declared a dividend of 8 cents per share payable on Jan. 9, 2003, to stockholders of record as of Dec. 20, 2002.

According to Pharmacia Corporation's (NYSE:PHA) quarterly update to ATP, Nicotrol(R)/Nicorette(R) Inhaler sales were up over twenty-five percent (25%) for the 12 month period ending Sept. 30, 2002, as compared to the same period last year. PHA saw significant growth of the Nicotrol(R)/ Nicorette(R) Inhaler in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America; however, the US market, which has seen a double-digit increase in prescriptions for thirteen (13) consecutive months, generated about two-thirds (2/3) of this growth. PHA indicated it will continue to support the Nicotrol(R) Inhaler in the U.S. as well as increase overall brand support during the re-launch of PHA's Nicotrol(R) Patch.

ATP sold patented nicotine technology, which forms the basis of the Nicotrol(R)/Nicorette(R) Inhaler, to Pharmacia in exchange for payments of 3% of Pharmacia's net sales of the Nicotrol(R)/Nicorette(R) Inhaler.

In September, 1998, Pharmacia launched the Nicotrol(R) Inhaler as a prescription product in the U.S. The Nicorette(R) Inhaler is sold, primarily as an over-the-counter product, in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

The Inhaler is the only nicotine replacement product designed to help control a smoker's cravings for cigarettes while providing a key behavioral component of smoking, the hand-to-mouth ritual.
