JNI Corporation today announced that ATL Products, a Quantum Corporation (NYSE:DSS, HDD) company, has certified JNI's (Nasdaq:JNIC) Emerald(TM)-based FibreStar(TM) PCI-to-Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter (HBAs).

The FCE-6410 adapter will join JNI's FCI-1063 and FC64-1063 PCI and SBus HBAs for inclusion within ATL's Certified Solutions Matrix.

ATL is a longtime leader in Digital Linear Tape (DLT) automated tape library solutions. DLT uses multi-track linear recording of digital data on metal particle media to provide very high transfer rates and extraordinary reliability. It was originally developed as an alternative to the massive tape libraries only larger companies could afford. With DLT, smaller companies and departments can also employ automatic tape loading technology.

JNI(R) has been qualified for use across a wide range of ATL systems and solutions, from the smaller, cost-effective L200 and L500 models, to its high-end P3000 automated DLTape(TM) library, which holds up to 326 cartridges and 16 DLT7000 drives. The P3000 is designed to satisfy the extraordinary performance, capacity and accessibility requirements of data-intensive applications such as online transaction processing (OLTP), data warehousing and image archiving.
