ATL Products Moves to World's Largest Facility Dedicated to DLT Automation; Increased Demand for Data Storage Libraries Prompts Move.
The state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide the manufacturing capacity needed to support the company's rapidly expanding sales.
According to Dr. Kevin Daly, president and chief executive officer of ATL: "The move was prompted by the company's need to keep pace with strong product demand from VAR and OEM customers, including Auspex, Data General, Digital Equipment Corp., EMC, Siemens-Nixdorf and Sun Microsystems. The new facility provides the space needed for our marketing, sales and product support activities, as well as key research and development programs that will fuel the company's growth in the years ahead."
The DLT market and ATL Products are well-positioned for rapid growth in the future. Freeman Associates, a market research company in Santa Barbara, Calif., expects DLT library sales to grow 42 percent by the year 2001.
