ATIS and MSF To Collaborate on Packet-Based Carrier Interconnection.


WASHINGTON -- ATIS ATIS - A Tools Integration Standard  and the MultiService Forum (MSF MSF Manufacturing, Science, and Finance (Union) ) have agreed to establish a collaborative relationship that will speed the development of secure, robust, carrier-grade packet-based interconnection and end-to-end QoS for next-generation networks.

The two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a legal document describing a bilateral or multilateral agreement between parties. It expresses a convergence of will between the parties, indicating an intended common line of action and may not imply a legal commitment.  (MOU (Minutes Of Usage) A metric used to compute billing and/or statistics for telephone calls or other network use. ) that enables MSF and ATIS committees and working groups to better align work efforts and unite areas of relevant expertise towards the development of critical industry standards.

"ATIS is committed to ensuring the communication industry gets the standards it needs to support the next-generation network in the timeframe in which it needs them," said Susan M. "By working together, the two groups will enable faster realization of packet-based interconnect."
