ATI Technologies Inc. Completes Acquisition of Chromatic Research, Inc. - ATI Announces Nasdaq Listing.

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 23, 1998--ATI Technologies Inc (TSE:ATY.) ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY) the world leader in 3D graphics/video acceleration and multimedia solutions, today announced it has completed its acquisition of Chromatic Research, Inc. for a total investment of US$67 million, comprised of 100 percent of the outstanding shares of Chromatic and assumption of Chromatic's net liabilities.

The purchase is consistent with ATI's long history of integrating core technology blocks and responding to key market inflection points. Chromatic is currently developing next-generation System-on-a-Chip (SOC) technology, a highly integrated product that encompasses graphics, system logic and processor blocks into a single chip. Chromatic's next-generation technology is an ideal candidate for numerous multimedia applications incorporated in sub-$500 computers, set-top boxes as well as other consumer electronic devices.
