ATI ACQUIRES HYDRAVISION SOFTWARE FROM APPIAN.

ATI Technologies U.L.C. ATI is a major Canadian designer and supplier of graphics processing units, motherboard chipsets, and video display cards.
 Inc. has announced that ATI (ATI Technologies Inc., Markham Ontario, http://ati.amd.com) A leading manufacturer of graphics chips and display adapters. Founded in 1985 by K. Y. Ho, Benny Lau and Lee Lau, ATI chips and boards are widely used by OEMs.  has acquired Appian's HydraVision desktop management software and technology for (US) $2 million.

Under the terms of the agreement, ATI has acquired ownership of HydraVision desktop management software and related technologies, several multi-monitor related patents and the HydraVision trademark. In addition, ATI has hired several Appian Graphics Since its inception in 1994, Appian Graphics was one of the leading suppliers of multi-monitor graphics accelerators.

The company was famous for its Jeronimo and Gemini product lines, and for the HydraVision display management software.

The companies have also renewed a sales and distribution agreement they originally entered into in November 2000. HydraVision desktop management software provides users with an interface for simplified management of multiple displays.
