:ATYT) announced today that XILLEON(TM) 220 has been selected by HUMAX Co. Ltd. for the RG-3010 IP set-top box (STB). ATI's XILLEON 220 is an advanced and highly integrated system-on-chip suitable for a range of digital devices including set-top boxes and digital televisions.

The HUMAX RG-3010 is an IP (internet protocol) based VOD (video-on-demand) set-top box. VOD is provided with MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) An ISO/ITU standard for compressing digital video. Pronounced "em-peg," it is the universal standard for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite TV, DVDs and digital video recorders (DVRs).  (Moving Picture Experts Group (compression, standard, algorithm, file format, body) Moving Picture Experts Group - (MPEG, ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29 WG11) An ISO committee that generates standards for digital video compression and audio. XILLEON 220 integrates into a single chip all processor, graphics, video, audio, and I/O (input and output) capabilities needed in a set-top box or digital TV. Included are a 300 MHz MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) The execution speed of a computer.
