Company to produce boards using multiple ATI graphics processors

for training simulations, virtual prototyping

ATI Technologies Inc (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT) announced today that Evans & Sutherland has selected ATI graphics technology to power its next generation PC-based visual systems. Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, ATI will provide chips for E&S's next generation Ensemble(TM) and simFUSION(TM) product families. Beginning with the RADEON(TM) 8500 graphics processor, E&S PC-IG products will incorporate ATI's newest chip technology, including multiple graphics chip configurations, as it becomes available. The first simFUSION systems with the ATI chips will be demonstrated this month at I/ITSEC 2001 in Orlando, Florida.

The new systems will be used in a variety of professional applications, including virtual prototyping, scientific visualization and training simulation for ship bridge, helicopter and jet aircraft.
