Both models are among the first announced notebooks in the world to include the new Intel Mobile Pentium 4 processor. They include ATI's MOBILITY RADEON 7500 with 64MB of dedicated 128-bit DDR video memory, dramatically raising the bar for notebook graphics performance.

It features the MOBILITY RADEON 7500 graphics controller as well as other leading-edge components, a 1.7 GHz Mobile Intel Pentium 4-M processor, 30 GB hard drive, 15" SXGA (Super XGA) A screen resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. SXGA is commonly used on standard monitors, but provides a 1.25:1 aspect ratio, compared to the more common 1.33:1 (4:3) ratio. SXGA+ has a 1400x1050 resolution, which is an exact 1.33:1 ratio.
