(ATY - TSE) today announced that Dell(TM) Computer, the world's fastest growing manufacturer of commercial PCs, has selected ATI's 3D RAGE PRO(TM) chip for its new OptiPlex(TM) GXa corporate desktop PC with the new Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) bus. The design win confirms ATI's price/performance leadership in the important new AGP segment of the commercial PC graphics market.

With the first complete implementation of AGP in the industry, the 3D RAGE PRO chip's superior 2D, 3D and video acceleration brings the full power of AGP graphics to the OptiPlex GXa corporate desktop PC. ATI's 3D RAGE PRO chip will be featured in the OptiPlex GXa, a 233 or 266 MHz Pentium(R) II, MMX-enabled system which is among the very first commercial PCs in the world to provide AGP support.
