Applications In Leading Application Server Environments

ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc., Nasdaq: ARTG ARTG Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods ) today announced the availability of two e-Learning courses that help developers build ATG online CRM (Customer Relationship Management) An integrated information system that is used to plan, schedule and control the presales and postsales activities in an organization.  solutions on top of BEA WebLogic and IBM WebSphere application servers. The new courses teach customers and partners how to realize the value of investments in ATG's commerce, portal, and relationship management applications as well as IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  and BEA BEA - Basic programming Environment for interactive-graphical Applications, from Siemens-Nixdorf.  technology investments.

Over the past year, ATG announced and delivered support for both IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic application servers. These new e-Courses were developed as a result of customer demand for ATG solutions on IBM and BEA application servers and will help customers achieve greater success in these environments.

"These courses will significantly reduce the learning curve for development teams building ATG solutions while leveraging investments in existing BEA or IBM infrastructure," said Ken Lownie, vice president of professional services. "With the need to tighten budgets for travel, education, and technology expenses, the goal of these online courses is to provide a cost effective means to be trained on leading infrastructures. We anticipate that they will be an excellent resource for the ATG community."

The courses help developers and technical leads get started with developing and running ATG solutions for commerce and portals on BEA WebLogic and IBM WebSphere using the Dynamo Application Framework (DAF). Students will learn how the DAF architecture allows ATG solutions to run in varied technical environments. Courses also will include instruction on how to utilize ATG's data access, personalization, scenario, commerce and portal technologies using the ATG DSP (1) (Digital Signal Processor) A special-purpose CPU used for digital signal processing applications (see definition #2 below). It provides ultra-fast instruction sequences, such as shift and add, and multiply and add, which are commonly used in math-intensive  tag library in JavaServer Pages.
