ATG Receives Building Occupancy Permit for New $28 Million LLMW Facility.

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2000

ATG Inc. (Nasdaq:ATGC), a leading provider of low-level radioactive and low-level mixed waste treatment services, today announced the receipt of the building occupancy permit for its new Low Level Mixed Waste (LLMW) treatment facility in Richland, WA from the city's Building Inspection Department.

With the occupancy permit now obtained, ATG is authorized to commence equipment start-up, instrument calibration, system integration, commercial scale demonstration and other pre-operational procedures for its proprietary GASVIT(TM) thermal processing equipment.

The LLMW facility consists of both thermal and non-thermal treatment processes. The facility has a non-thermal capacity of 8,000 metric tons per year and a thermal capacity of 1,250 metric tons per year under its present permit.

The Company has multi-year contracts to treat LLMW with U.S. Department of Energy facilities at Hanford, WA, Oak Ridge, TN, Brookhaven, NY and Oakland, CA, and has purchase orders with various commercial power plants.

Final inspection of the facility was conducted by the City of Richland on July 27, 2000, and covered civil, structural, electrical, mechanical and occupancy safety requirements.

Construction of the $28 million facility is financed by a Washington State tax-exempt industrial revenue bond.
