ATG Cygnet announces 3-year opticallibrary warranty and expanded product maintenance service program; leading supplier of high-capacity optical storage systems affirms reliability, demonstrates commitment to customer support.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 1995--Reflecting its commitment to product reliability and minimizing end-user cost of ownership, ATG Cygnet Inc. today announced a three-year warranty for the robotic components of its 12-in. optical storage libraries.

Additionally, the company described a new contract maintenance and service program covering all of the 12-in. library and optical disk drive products sold by ATG Cygnet.

ATG Cygnet's three-year warranty on optical library robotics is believed to be the lengthiest warranty offered by any manufacturer of high-capacity automated disk exchange systems. It applies to the ATG Cygnet Series 1800 Expandable Optical Library, including Models 1602, 1802 and 1803, and the Advanced Storage Module. All of these libraries are manufactured at ATG Cygnet's ISO 9001 certified plant in San Jose.

ATG Cygnet's expanded maintenance and service program is available to both OEM and end-user customers. The Maintenance/Service Contract was developed to more efficiently meet the support needs of customers and improve accountability for the storage component of key computer systems. ATG Cygnet provides 24-hour "help-desk" phone support to respond to service requests and assure prompt and satisfactory resolution. The company also acts as the coordinator between the OEM, systems solutions provider and the end-user to quickly identify and fulfill service needs.

Service is offered through ATG Cygnet certified third-party maintenance providers. The service offering includes on site repair of the library, including labor and material costs, as well as maintenance and repair of ATG Cygnet, Philips LMS or Nikon optical drives installed in the library. Additionally, for ATG Cygnet manufactured drives, a 24 hour hot swap program is available.
