ATG Completes $5.8 Million Safglas Upgrade; Upgrade Increases System Production Capacity by 100%.

), a leading provider of low-level radioactive and low-level mixed waste treatment services, today announced that it has completed Phase II of the company's major equipment upgrade to the Safglas process at the Richland, Wash., facility.

A new Bulk Processing Unit ("BPU BPU

benzoylphenyl urea.
") off-gas treatment system has been installed and is now in operation. This latest equipment upgrade will further improve operational reliability and environmental health and safety, while increasing the system production capacity by 100%.

The Safglas upgrade project, initially started in December 1998, was specifically designed to increase overall thermal processing capacity and to improve production efficiency. In addition to the BPU enhancement, the project completed today includes installation of an advanced air pollution control infrastructure. The company has invested a total of $5.8 million in the project.

"With these improvements, we will be able to utilize the full capability of our equipment.
