(Art Technology Group, Inc., Nasdaq: ARTG ARTG Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods ), a leading developer of online marketing, sales, and service applications for global consumer-facing organizations, today announced at the 2003 ATG Open a new and expanded certification exam to further strengthen the ATG Alliance Network. The ATG Certified Developer Exam provides a measurement used to assess baseline developer competency on ATG technology for ATG alliance members, and helps provide ATG customers the ability to assess alliance member capabilities based on measurable data.

"McFadyen Consulting places enormous emphasis on the education of our consultants, and the ATG Certified Developer Exam is a tremendous measure for helping to ensure quality implementations," said Tom McFadyen, president, McFadyen Consulting. "We are proud to boast a large number of ATG Certified consultants and will continue our commitment to this program."

Maximizing a return on investment and reduced time-to-market with ATG's solutions is dependent on the ability of developers to properly leverage the functionality and capabilities of the technology. The ATG Certified Developer Exam was created following an intensive process in which more than 70 individuals, including 48 representing Alliance partners, participated in developing the examination criteria. Those that pass the exam will have demonstrated a thorough understanding of ATG solutions and an ability to maximize their out-of-the-box functionality. The exam is available to ATG developers around the globe at Worldwide Prometric testing centers. More information can be found at www.atg.com/certification.

"The ATG Certified Professional Program provides an excellent way for us to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace," said P. Vishwanath ,vice president, Professional Access. "As an experienced ATG Solutions provider with many ATG certified professionals, we value the new ATG certification program immensely. It helps us enhance the skills of our technical team and leverage the latest ATG innovations through a combination of training and experience."

"This new exam is a first step towards assisting our customers in selecting the most qualified Alliance partners to meet their business requirements," said Al Stoddard, vice president, ATG Alliances. "Because the exam verifies knowledge of ATG's entire product offering, our customers can be confident that the Alliance partners implementing a solution built on ATG technology are maximizing its fullest potential."
