ATCi integrates Cocesna's frame relay network.


Antenna Technology Communications Inc., a provider of satellite communications solutions, has announced that the company has installed and integrated a two-way communication system (communications) communication system - A system or facility capable of providing information transfer between persons and equipment. The system usually consists of a collection of individual communication networks, transmission systems, relay stations, tributary stations, and terminal equipment capable of interconnection and interoperation so as to form an integrated whole. for Cocesna using Frame Relay to access the company's existing Aeronautical Communication Network, which currently serves airports throughout Central America.

ATCi, employing the latest satellite communications technology from Comtech EF Data and its wholly owned subsidiary Memotec, designed and integrated the complete Frame Relay system for the new satellite communication site at Bluefields Bluefields, town (1995 pop. 30,208), capital of the South Atlantic Coast Autonomous Region and Zelaya dept., SE Nicaragua, on Bluefields Bay at the mouth of the Escondido River. It is Nicaragua's chief Caribbean port. Hardwoods and fish are exported. Bluefields was a rendezvous for English and Dutch buccaneers in the 16th and 17th cent. and became (1678) capital of the British protectorate over the Mosquito Coast. During U.S. Bluefield, city (1990 pop. 12,756), Mercer co., extreme SW W.Va., in the Allegheny Mts. adjacent to Bluefield, Va.; settled 1777, inc. 1889. Lumber, transportation equipment, and machinery are produced, and there are quarries and coal mines. Bluefield State College is in the city, and nearby are two state parks., Nicaragua Nicaragua (nĭkärä`gwä), officially Republic of Nicaragua, republic (2005 est. pop. 5,465,000), 49,579 sq mi (128,410 sq km), Central America. Nicaragua is bordered on the north and northwest by Honduras, on the east by the Caribbean Sea, on the south by Costa Rica, and on the southwest by the Pacific Ocean.. The site is currently connected with six voice channels A transmission channel or subchannel that has the bandwidth necessary to carry human voice. With its newly installed Frame Relay network in place, Cocesna is able to provide an enhanced offering of Aeronautical and Administration Network Services.

Cocesna was required to upgrade its current network to meet the partial lifting of telecommunication regulations in Nicaragua designed at opening access to frequencies for mobile telephone, paging and satellite communications.

Cocesna (Corporacion Centroamericana de servicios de Navegacion Aerea) is an international company headquartered in Honduras responsible for managing and maintaining a communication network of regional airports throughout Central America.

As a public service within the region, Cocesna's voice and data communication network provides information that is crucial to managing aircraft and airport traffic control operations. Currently, Cocesna connects airports in Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

In addition to the complete installation of the two-way communication system at Bluefields, ATCi also handled all equipment testing and on-site training of personnel to ensure successful frame relay network operation. The network was installed and operating successfully as of May 2004.
