ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1998--

Multiple Properties from a Single Server

ATCOM/INFO, the leader in public high-speed Internet access, today announced the launch of the IPORT(tm) Central Office (IPORT-CO) solution, the most cost-effective way to deliver high-speed Internet access services to hotels, multiple dwelling units (MDUs), airports, retail, office and home locations. IPORT-CO enables ISPs, Telcos and other service providers to deliver high-speed Internet access with enhanced services, decreased hardware installation costs, reduced customer support requirements and overall lower total operating costs operating costs nplgastos mpl operacionales  than any other means of high-speed Internet access currently available.

The IPORT-CO solution allows service providers to install a single dedicated IPORT server in their data center, POP, (Point of Presence), Telco Central Offices or network control centers to provide service to a number of property types simultaneously. IPORT-CO allows service providers to offer their clients the ability to supply all their brand properties with high-speed access over a single network, providing cost savings in terms of installation and support. The service provider also benefits from not having to maintain customer premise equipment and centralizing the management of the Internet services.

Properties such as hotels, MDUs, airports, retailers and offices will also be able to significantly reduce the costs and strain associated with providing and maintaining high-speed Internet services. IPORT-CO enables several properties to share the expenses for servers, routers and Internet, notably decreasing the total cost of ownership for these businesses. These properties who receive service via IPORT-CO will receive all the benefits of the IPORT 2.5 Internet Access See how to access the Internet.  System [see today's related announcement]. These new features include plug & play capabilities, pay-per-use billing, meeting management capabilities and printing services.

"IPORT-CO is offering substantial benefits across markets. It's a cost-competitive solution that enables ISPs, Telcos with DSL DSL

With IPORT-CO, users can connect to the Internet without reconfiguring their computers and without requesting a logon name, password or using special client software. By integrating IPORT 2.5 into the IPORT-CO solution, there is a connection to a property management system, its credit card payment systems, and other billing systems to ensure complete payment flexibility. The solution supports micropayments for premium content, enabling properties or service providers to add valuable content services for their customers.
