ATB 2009 Travel and Tourism Fair Kicks Off.

Damascus, (SANA) -- The 7th ATB (Arab Tourism Bourse) Travel & Tourism Fair opened on Sunday at the Damascus Fairgrounds, with the participation of more than 17 Arab and foreign countries and 40 tourism companies.Minister of Tourism Saadallah Agha al-Qalaa said that the growing participation in the ATB Fair each year shows the increasing interest in Syria as a tourist destination, adding that Syria ranks 61st out 181 countries according to the World Travel and Tourism Council rating, affirming that there is constant effort to improve this ranking and that Syrian tourism will improve further in coming years.Several activities and events will be held during the Fair, including seminars and meetings for businessmen and specialists, tourist workshops, and tourist trips and programs organized to introduce Arab and foreign participants to the most important historic sites in Damascus.The four-day fair aims to shed light on what's new in the world of tourism in travel, in addition to making deals and exchanging expertise and information in the field of tourism.The fair is organized by Al Sarayri International Company to coincide with the International Hotels and Restaurants Equipment Exhibition (Hotex).H.
