Later today, the carrier anticipates the delivery of yet another new Boeing 737-800 -- with a new Boeing 757-300 scheduled to arrive on September 22. As ATA continues to add new aircraft to its fleet, plans are currently underway to retire the entire fleet of 727-200s by late October. Once these aircraft are retired, ATA will have the youngest, most fuel-efficient fleet in the industry.

The plane burns less fuel than older mid-range airplanes, meets community noise restrictions and complies with strict new international emissions standards. The aircraft, which also has leather seats, carries 247 passengers.

ATA expects to add six more new aircraft to its fleet by late December.
