ATA Expands Choices for San Francisco and Introduces Nonstop, Coast-to-Coast Service; ``Honest Growth'' Ad Campaign Coincides with New Schedules and Services.Business Editors INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 2003 ATA (ATA Airlines, Inc.), (Nasdaq:ATAH), the airline that delivers "honest growth coast to coast," is significantly increasing its services at the San Francisco International Airport. At a time when other airlines are reducing choices, ATA is increasing its operations from 55 to 76 flights per week by October. ATA will bolster San Francisco service with additional daily flights to Chicago-Midway and Honolulu, effective Oct. 16 and Nov. 20, respectively. In addition, the company is introducing twice daily nonstop San Francisco-Newark service, with flights to begin Oct. 26, 2003. On ATA's new coast-to-coast nonstop flights, the carrier will offer a fully refundable one-way walk-up fare of $249.(a) The fare has no change fees, no overnight stay requirement, and can be purchased one-way. This compares to a $1,218 one-way, nonstop walk-up fare available from other San Francisco carriers. For travelers planning further in advance, ATA will offer even lower restricted fares, such as $139(a) one-way or, in some cases, still lower fares available via the Company's web site at ATA.com. These new schedule and service options are the latest in a series of expansions that the nation's 10th largest airline has carried out this year. To support today's announcement of new San Francisco schedules and service, ATA is rolling out an advertising campaign with the theme: "ATA: Honest Growth, Coast to Coast. More Cities. More Times. More Often." The campaign will be presented in television, radio and print media. George Mikelsons, ATA Chief Executive Officer and President noted, "San Francisco is one of the most exciting markets in the country, and it's also been underserved by low cost carriers. With these new travel choices, ATA is dramatically increasing its investment and commitment to San Francisco." In light of this expansion, John B. Happ, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, added, "With these initiatives, ATA builds on its strategy of providing more travelers with more choices while delivering value-based services and customer-friendly travel policies." The San Francisco Airport Commission has encouraged San Francisco travelers to take advantage of the new ATA services. "For a city of our stature, we're pleased to have the benefits of a low cost carrier like ATA. These additional services offer tremendous benefits for value-conscious travelers," commented San Francisco Airport Director, John L. Martin. ATA has the youngest, most fuel-efficient fleet among the major carriers, featuring the new Boeing 737-800 and 757-300 aircraft. Comfortable and spacious, these aircraft boast all-leather seats, adjustable headrests, large overhead bins and the latest in digital in-flight audio/video systems. From multiple music channels to Seinfeld and Frasier, the aircraft are full of entertainment options. Now celebrating its 30th year of operation, ATA is the nation's 10th largest airline based on revenue passenger miles. ATA operates significant scheduled service from Chicago-Midway, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, St. Petersburg, Fla. and San Francisco to over 40 business and vacation destinations.
