ATA Celebrates Fleet Milestone with 21 New Aircraft; Re-Fleeting Plan is Well Underway for Low-Fare Carrier.

), the nation's 10th largest carrier, today announced that it has taken delivery of two more 737-800 aircraft from Boeing bringing the total number of new aircraft for the low-fare carrier to 21.

With the addition of these new planes, ATA now has a total fleet of 72 (61 in its scheduled service and charter operations and 11 in its commuter operations). This year the Company anticipates taking delivery of 19 more new aircraft from Boeing solidifying its position as having the youngest, most fuel-efficient scheduled fleet among the major carriers.

The Boeing 737-800 is equipped with advanced state-of-the-art technology and performance enhancing winglets that reduce aerodynamic drag aer`o`dy`nam´ic drag

The aircraft, which seats 175 passengers, includes the latest avionics and safety improvements with an interior decorated in soft, relaxing earth tones and comfortable leather seats. The Boeing 757-300 has the lowest seat-mile cost of any single-aisle and mid-sized jetliner, making it an extremely cost-effective airplane for the carrier to operate. The aircraft burns less fuel than older mid-range airplanes, meets community noise restrictions and complies with strict new international emissions standards. The aircraft, which also has leather seats, seats 247 passengers.
