ATA Celebrates Another Milestone, Carrier Opens New Gates in A Concourse at Chicago-Midway.

) the nation's 10th largest carrier, will offer service from six new gates at Chicago-Midway Airport.

By March 8th, the low-cost carrier A low-cost carrier or low-cost airline (also known as a no-frills or discount carrier / airline) is an airline that offers generally low fares in exchange for eliminating many traditional passenger services.  will utilize a total of seven new gates in the new A Concourse as operations are moved from gates in the old G and H Concourses. The new gates will handle almost 90 percent of ATA's departures, and are located immediately past security, the triangle concessions area and only steps away from the ATA ticket counter and the parking garage. The total number of gates operated by the carrier at Midway is nine.

"There is probably not an airport of this size that can match the convenience of the new gates and its proximity to parking and the new terminal," said Don Moonjian, ATA Vice President of Marketing. "Business travelers will especially find our spacious new gates among the most convenient they have ever experienced, and over time, we believe that the new Midway Airport will become known as the most convenient airport of its size in any major metropolitan area."

ATA is the first carrier to move an operation of this size into the new gates at Midway. Last October, the Company began transitioning its operations by moving into a spacious new gate in the airport's new B Concourse. By the time the Midway Airport development program is complete, the carrier will operate 13 new gates from the A and B Concourses combined.

In addition to its gate expansion at Midway, the carrier today announced that its service operations has already reached its pre-September 11th flight schedule levels.
