ATA Announces Service Increases in Four Key Markets; Innovative ``Honest Growth'' Ad Campaign Coincides with New Schedules and Coast-to-Coast Service.

 (ATA Airlines ATA Airlines, Inc., formerly known as American Trans Air, is an American low-cost scheduled service and charter airline based in Indianapolis, Indiana. ATA operates scheduled passenger flights throughout the US mainland and Hawaii, as well as military and commercial charter , Inc.), (Nasdaq:ATAH ATAH Antenna Train Angle Horizontal (fighter aircraft targeting) ) today announced initiatives in four markets -- Chicago-Midway, Newark, San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  and Indianapolis -- that expand passenger services and options.

This four-pronged expansion program, which significantly increases ATA's schedules and marks the introduction of ATA nonstop HP's brand name for its fault-tolerant servers, which range in size from four CPUs to 4,000 CPUs. The NonStop line was created by Tandem Computers, which was acquired by Compaq, which later became part of HP.  coast-to-coast services, is the latest in a series of expansions that the nation's 10th largest airline has carried out this year.

To support today's announcement of new schedules and service in four cities, ATA is rolling out a new advertising campaign with the theme: "ATA: Honest Growth, Coast to Coast. More Cities. More Times. More Often." The campaign will be presented in television, radio and print media across the country.

One of the key components of today's announcement is the introduction of nonstop San Francisco-Newark service.

In light of this significant expansion, John Happ, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, commented, "With these initiatives, ATA builds on its strategy of providing travelers with more choices while delivering value-based services combined with customer-friendly travel policies."

To reinforce its vision, ATA is assigning additional aircraft for service in key business-travel markets to provide more choice and convenience for business travelers.

Underlying ATA's "Honest Growth," which is typified by the new coast-to-coast service, ATA's fare structure never includes hidden gimmicks or extras. ATA's fares never require a minimum stay or an inconvenient in·con·ven·ient

Not convenient, especially:
a. Not accessible; hard to reach.

b. Not suited to one's comfort, purpose, or needs: inconvenient to have no phone in the kitchen.
 Saturday-night overnight. And, no passenger ever pays more than $299 for a one-way domestic fare -- anywhere in the country.

Following are highlights of the new schedules and services:

CHICAGO-MIDWAY: ATA already provides multi-faceted services for business and leisure travelers out of Chicago-Midway and will increase frequencies there by 13 percent by adding frequencies to business markets, including Newark, Boston, Philadelphia and San Francisco. The carrier will also increase frequencies to Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States. , Denver and San Juan, Puerto Rico San Juan (IPA: [saŋ hwaŋ]) (from the Spanish San Juan Bautista, "Saint John the Baptist") is the capital and largest municipality on Puerto Rico.  and will add service to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

SAN FRANCISCO: ATA will bolster San Francisco service with additional daily flights to Chicago-Midway and Honolulu, Oct. 16 and Nov. 20, respectively, along with two new daily nonstops to Newark.

NEW YORK/NEWARK: ATA will increase Chicago-Midway to Newark service from 20 weekly flights to 40 by Oct. 26, 2003. In addition, on Oct. 26, two daily nonstop flights from Newark to San Francisco will begin. The carrier will offer 19 flights daily to LaGuardia and Newark.

INDIANAPOLIS: ATA will offer daily, one-stop service from Indianapolis to Honolulu beginning Nov. 20, 2003. The carrier will also add a daily nonstop flight from Indianapolis to Miami on Dec. 20, 2003, solidifying so·lid·i·fy
