Kemin Industries Inc., Des Moines, Iowa, hires Jeffrey Friese as commercial director for the Petfood Nutrisurance division and Pat Welch as technical services manager for the poultry business team. Previously, Friese served in various management positions with Agritek, Inc., and Syntex Animal Health. Welch spent 11 years as a corporate nutritionist with Sanderson Farms.

Eco Soil Systems Inc., Rancho Bernardo, Calif., hires Jim Turner as vice president of sales and marketing, turf division. Turner was previously North American sales manager for Aquatrols Corp. Steve Sears is named vice president of procurement and product development. Sears was product manager for Turf Partners and general manager of Turf Specialty Inc.

Farm Progress Companies, Carol Stream, Ill., hires Ted Alexander as regional sales manager for its state magazine group. He is located in Huntington, N.Y. Alexander most recently was with Crawford Fenton Associates.

Roger Malkin, chairman and CEO of Delta and Pine Land Co., Scott, Miss., will take on a reduced role for health reasons. He has been with the company since 1978. Malkin has been named chairman emeritus and will remain a member of the board. Murray Robinson will take over as CEO and also become vice chairman.

Bob Quinn has joined Data Transmission Network Corp., Omaha, Neb., as ag division editorial director. Quinn previously was director of news and farm information with WHO Radio in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Farm Credit Administration Farm Credit Administration (FCA), an independent agency of the executive branch of the federal government that supervises and coordinates the Farm Credit System for American agriculture. The Farm Credit Act of 1971, which superseded all previous legislation, established the FCA to provide long-term and short-term credit to farmers and their cooperatives., McLean, Va., names Cheryl Tates Macias chief operating officer. She most recently was special assistant to the President and associate director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel.

VetLife, Overland Park, Kan., hires Clark Weaver as regional sales manager for north-central Texas. Prior to joining VetLife, Weaver was employed at Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., where he served as sales manager, territory manager and cattle pharmaceutical product manager.

ABS Global, DeForest, Wis., promotes Todd Sears to beef specialist from district sales manager in North Dakota.

Gus Dean joins the animal health division of Alpharma, Inc., as swine product manager. Previously, Dean was a clinical veterinarian for Murphy Family Farms.

Trimble, Sunnyvale, Calif., promotes Mary Ellen Genovese to CFO. For the past six months, she has served as acting CFO, replacing John Zimmerman, who resigned to pursue other interests. Genovese previously was vice president of finance and corporate controller.

Moshe Givon is named president of Makhteshim-Agan of North America Inc., New York. He replaces Raymond Sive, who is retiring. Givon has been an executive with the Makhteshim organization for more than 20 years, the past six as commercial director of Makhteshim Chemical Works Ltd., Israel. He now resides in New York.

William J. Moorman, died Aug. 31 after a long bout with cancer. He was a long time NAMA member and served as National Careers Chairman for several years. In 1988, he retired from Northrup King Seed Co. Moorrnan is survived by his wife, Mildred.
